IVF Shipping Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is it safe to transport frozen embryos or sperm cells between IVF clinics?

Yes. Transporting frozen embryos, sperm, or oocytes is safe if done right. They must stay very cold (around –190 °C) in a dry shipper. If they warm up, it may affect survival. That’s why expert cryo couriers are important.

2. Can you transport frozen embryos abroad?

Yes, you can legally move frozen embryos or gametes between clinics in different countries. Both clinics must be licensed by authorities like the HFEA in the UK. A trusted courier like ours handles paperwork, customs, and cold-chain shipping.

3. Can you transport frozen embryos between different countries — direct or via other countries?

Yes. We usually ship directly clinic-to-clinic. But sometimes flights stop in other countries. We always plan the best route to keep your embryos cold and safe.

4. How much does embryo transport cost in Europe?

Costs vary by route and services. It usually includes the dry shipper, courier, tracking, insurance, and paperwork. We offer free quotes and match other couriers if they offer the same service.
5. What information and documents are required for embryo or gamete transport?

We need:

  1. Your name and ID

  2. Clinic names and addresses

  3. Legal consent forms

  4. Shipping dates
We help you and the clinics collect all import/export paperwork.

6. Can you provide typical door-to-door transit times?

Yes. For shipments in Europe, it usually takes 1–3 business days. For longer routes (like Europe to USA), it may take 3–5 business days.

7. Do you provide insurance?

Yes. Every shipment is insured through our FCA regulated insurance company up to £36,750 which is our highest tier insurance.

8. Can you rent the shipping container if I courier the embryos myself?

No. You need specialist training to transport reproductive material and company registration and clearance/licences with airlines.

9. Since the frozen embryos will be shipped between clinics in two different countries, will they travel through other countries or go direct from clinic to clinic?

We plan the route to be as direct as possible. Sometimes layovers are needed, but our trained courier always stays with the samples and monitors temperature.

10. What typical problems might arise in transit?

Possible issues:

  • Flight delays

  • Customs delays

  • Monitoring alerts
We manage all by planning ahead and having backup plans to keep your samples safe.

    11. Do you provide references?

Yes. We can share contact info for clinics and patients who’ve used our service—so you can hear their experience directly.

12. What is your refund policy?

If we don’t pick up or start shipping, you get a full refund (minus bank fees). If delivery is refused before transport starts, you also get a full refund. Once shipping begins, fees are non-refundable.

13. What is included in my transportation fees?

  • Courier travel (flight/car/train)

  • Dry shipper rental

  • Tracking and SMS alerts

  • Clinic communication

  • Documents and customs handling

  • Insurance

14. Are there any hidden costs?
