International Stem Cell Courier Services: Clinical Continuity of Care, Wherever the Cells Are Going

A stem cell shipment is not a parcel. It is a patient's treatment, moving between two clinical teams who may never meet — a donor collection facility on one side, a transplant centre on the other. At Greenplace Healthcare, our Cryo Carrier service is built on that understanding: this is a healthcare handover, not a freight job, and it is managed by a Clinical Care Coordinator from the moment cells are collected to the moment they reach the patient's care team.

Why Greenplace Healthcare Is the Right Partner for Stem Cell Transport

We are a regulated healthcare organisation that happens to move highly sensitive biological material between clinical teams — not a logistics company that happens to touch healthcare. That distinction shapes how we run every stem cell mission.

A Dedicated Care Team

Every stem cell transfer is coordinated by our Care Team, not a general dispatch desk. Because donor collection and transplant teams are often in different countries and different time zones, our coordinators are reachable 24/7 and work across the languages our client base needs.

Clinical Care Coordinators, Not Couriers

The person accompanying your shipment is a Clinical Care Coordinator — trained in cryogenic material handling, chain-of-custody documentation, and the discipline of continuous hand-carry supervision. They stay with the material as cabin baggage for the entire journey, treating the handover between collecting facility and transplant centre as a continuation of the patient's care, not a change of custody to an outside contractor.

End-to-End Continuity of Care

We manage the full transfer as a single clinical episode: coordinator selection matched to the route, advance liaison with airlines and airports, real-time itinerary visibility for both the sending and receiving clinical teams, and contingency management if a flight is delayed or rerouted. One Care Team stays accountable for the whole journey — the sending facility and the transplant centre aren't left coordinating a handoff themselves.

How We Move Stem Cells

Every Greenplace Healthcare stem cell transfer follows the same clinical protocol, regardless of route:

  • Continuous hand-carry supervision. The shipper travels as cabin baggage with our Clinical Care Coordinator at every stage — never checked, never left unattended, never transferred to a third party mid-route.

  • Do Not X-Ray protocol. We liaise directly with airport security and airline staff ahead of travel to secure manual/visual inspection wherever the shipment's origin and destination permit it, protecting cell viability from radiation exposure.

  • Full clinical documentation. Chain-of-custody records, temperature logs, and import/export paperwork travel with the shipment and are handed directly to the receiving clinical team.

  • CQC-registered service, FCA-regulated insurance. Our transport operations sit within a CQC-registered healthcare organisation, giving clients a regulatory standard of accountability that a standalone logistics provider doesn't carry.

Service Tiers

We offer three levels of clinical care pathway, so sending and receiving teams can choose the level of oversight the specific case calls for:

  • Standard Clinical Care — full protocol above, standard scheduling.

  • Enhanced Clinical Care — priority coordinator assignment and tighter itinerary monitoring for time-sensitive transplant windows.

A Global Service — Built Out Deepest Where Continuity of Care Is Hardest to Find

Greenplace Healthcare moves stem cell and HPC shipments worldwide, connecting donor registries, collection facilities, and transplant centres across every populated continent. We've focused our deepest clinical infrastructure on the regions where reliable, regulated continuity of care has historically been hardest for transplant teams to secure:

  • Africa. Working from our on-the-ground presence in Nigeria, we support transplant centres and collection facilities across the continent with the same clinical protocol and documentation standard used on every other route — closing a continuity-of-care gap that has often meant longer waits for patients than is clinically necessary.

  • Middle East. We manage stem cell transfers into and across the region's transplant centres within each country's clinical import, customs, and airport-security requirements, rather than treating the region as a secondary extension of European or North American routes.

  • Mexico. As transplant capacity grows across Mexico, we're extending the same Clinical Care Coordinator model and pricing transparency our clients already see on our reproductive material routes into and out of the country.

Beyond these focus regions, our Care Team coordinates transfers globally — Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America — under the same clinical standard on every route.

What Determines the Cost of a Stem Cell Transfer

Cost depends on the route, urgency, packaging and dry shipper requirements, and the level of clinical care pathway selected. As with all of our cryogenic transport work, we quote in ranges rather than flat fees, and quotes exclude collection-facility fees, dry shipper rental beyond the standard transit window, and any storage required before or after transport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can stem cells go through airport X-ray screening? We work to avoid it wherever possible. Our Care Team liaises with airport security in advance to arrange manual/visual inspection, since X-ray exposure can damage cellular material. Where a jurisdiction requires X-ray screening regardless, we notify both the sending and receiving clinical teams ahead of booking.

Is a Clinical Care Coordinator with the shipment the entire time? Yes. The coordinator carries the dry shipper as cabin baggage and remains with it from collection through to delivery at the transplant centre or laboratory — it is never checked as cargo and never left unsupervised.

Do you handle both domestic and international transfers? Yes. We coordinate domestic transfers between collection facilities and transplant units within a single country, as well as international transfers between donor registries and transplant centres worldwide.

How quickly can a transfer be arranged? Because stem cell transfers are often time-critical, our Care Team can typically confirm coordinator availability and routing on short notice. Contact us with your timeline and we'll advise what's realistic for your specific route and care pathway.
